DIY – star crown palm sunday candle

Personalized candles have a way of standing out from the crowd, let your little ones feel exceptional and special as they were born!

I am sharing with you my little boy candle (19 months), it won’t take too much of your time and doesn’t require craft skills. Colors are always subjective and depending on the outfit they are wearing. Follow this step by step tutorial to see how beautiful things are found in the simple!

Plastic bottle candle holder – recycling crafts

Sometimes these fun recycling projects are so interesting for adults as much as for kids. For instance, these flower candle holders made from empty plastic bottles were fun to make for both of me and nady. They made a beautiful decoration element in the house.

All you need are:

empty plastic bottles
scissors
lighter
acrylic paints
candles

How to do?!

Start by cutting the top part of the bottle with a scissor. Cut five to six parts (making the petals) than trim each part to look like a flower petal. Pass the edges over a lighter flame, to burn and torn them to look like a real petal. Then give it to your kid to color it. After it’s completely dry insert a candle.

Nady chose blue and green colors, they turned out really amazing. i am in love with these candle holders. I am sure a lot of you wouldn’t believe it’s made from plastic bottles.

Marine Palm Sunday candle – DIY

Palm sunday is in less than a week time. If you still didn’t buy your kid’s candle and you would like to make a special unique one, here is a step by step tutorial for a marine theme.

On a white candle, wrap two different colors of ribbon, almost at the 1/3, so it’s above your kid hand grip.

Create with a third color ribbon, a kind of bow as shown below and stick it in the middle between the two ribbons.

Stick the motifs either with UHU glue or wax gun. Click here to download a high resolution file of the drawing. Print it on a card board and let the printing house cut it out with laser if you are not good with the exacto.

Use a thread to attach the wheel and anchor, and let them dangle.

You can use any color related to the marine theme, not necessarily those specific ones. Depending on what you find in the shop.

Boy or girl can enjoy this candle. Happy palm sunday!
