Creative easter eggs – the Farm – DIY

creative easter eggs - the farm

Today is the saturday of light! the day we prepare the eggs for Easter sunday.

As promised before, this is a step by step to this year eggs.

Nady loves the song “old macdonald had a farm”, this where the idea came from, Cows farm.

With a black marker, draw the cow’s pattern on white hard boiled eggs.

To decorate the farm with couple of flowers, you need to dye with some colors. I always recommend wilton gel color.

Wrap the egg with a green ribbon and stick a flower, very quick and easy.

If your baby is still discovering with his mouth, avoid small buttons. Nady tasted all of them 🙂

spring/easter crafting – wooden spoon puppet – DIY – step by step

aspring/easter crafts - wooden spoon puppet

Wooden spoons are not just for mommy to use in the kitchen, kids can create cute characters such as Easter rabbit or chick and spring lady bug to go with the flowers we crafted before.

A very easy bricolage and a lot of fun. If your kid is under 3 years, paint the spoons yourself and let it dry before starting to play together. I recommend acrylic paint but don’t mix it with water for more vibrant colors.

Small details to stick with your kids such as pompom, wiggling eyes, feather…. are more instructional then you think. Learning the shapes, names, colors and you can extend the fun by telling stories about Easter and spring.

Nady was so much interested and fascinated with the lady bug antennas.

DIY classic Palm Sunday candle – olive branch

how to decorate the palm sunday candle – DIY – step by step

Today we celebrate palm friday (instead of palm sunday) in Doha. Strange no?!

Anyways, nothing will affect our happiness, teta and jeddo (grandmother and grandfather in arabic) are here to celebrate the holiday season with Nady.

They got olive branches from Lebanon, so i wanted this year to make the classic candle like old days.

Very easy and fast, could be the last minute candle. But in my opinion the most beautiful one with the olive branch symbol of peace.

All you need is washi paper and white ribbon. Make four parallel strips:

Baby blue washi tape to go with the green of the olive branch.

Then tie a thin white ribbon as a bow in the middle between the lines.

And a thicker satin one.

Insert the olive branch between the ribbon and stick the stem under the last washi tape line.

Et Voila! a beautiful classic candle that holds lot of meanings.

DIY Palm Sunday candle – flowers

how to decorate palm sunday candleThere are many ways to decorate the palm sunday candle at home. If your precious is a girl and you want to make something simple and girly, you will like this one.

Colors are very subjective depending on your girl cloths, her favourite colors or even yours!

In a previous post i showed you how to make these beautiful flowers. Check spring flowers for tutorials, but this time you will need ribbons and buttons for the carpel.

2ribbons

Start by wrapping two intertwined ribbons on the 1/3 third of the candle to keep space for the little hand to hold it.

If you noticed they are 3 sizes flowers. Glue the big and medium one on the wrapped ribbons and the small on one of the hanging ribbons as shown.
